Cocktails and holidays just seem to go together. As mid-fall approaches, pick up a few items to make entertaining go smoothly - before the shopping lists and shopping chores are already overloaded.
<fontsize4></fontsize4><fontsize4></fontsize4>The Little Black Book of Cocktails -<fontsize></fontsize><fontsize></fontsize> from Little Black Books published by Peter Pauper and written by Kerren Barbas, is a trusty little companion for any host. Spiral bound, it doesn't get in the way while reading and practicing mixing cocktails, as the book lays open on the surface of the counter. Sometimes its the little things! Its a great book for beginners, too. Available in the Boutique.
The Joy of Mixology - is also a good book, by Gary Regan, going above and beyond most recipe filled bartending books. Years of knowledge and interesting bits of information are packed into this little book about drinks. It is also a good gift idea for those you know and love who like being aware of the how's and why's about just about anything they do - and drinking they definately do. A note of caution: one reviewer thought reading the book made them drink more, so not a good choice if they're drinking too much, already. Also available in the Boutique.
Holiday ready? Plan and prepare. Beware: these little books and tips just might make you the most popular host around. For a quick history of the martini and several recipes - fun to make - read Learn to Make a Great Martini. Also, check the boutique for some drinkware and the two great, little books above.
